LG launches its first MicroLED RGB TVs ahead of CES 2026

As promised, LG Electronics launched its first microLED-backlit LCD TVS, branded as LG Micro RGB Evo. The TVs, which will be shown early next year at CES 2026 for the first time, will be available at 75-, 86-, and 100-inch sizes.  

LG says that these TVs will offer superb color performance, and will use LG’s newly upgraded Dual AI Engine-based a11 AI Processor Gen 3 for better upscaling and Micro Dimming Ultra. LG did not yet detail the price or release date, hopefully this will be revealed next month.

LG brings its LTPS MAGNIT Active MicroLED TV to the US

Back in October, LG Electronics announced its latest microLED ultra-large display, the MAGNIT Active Micro LED. This is the company's first microLED display that is based on an LTPS backplane (rather than a PCB one). LG now announced that it is bringing this display to the US, and will show it at CES early in 2026.

While these are tiled displays, LGE is offering a single size at this stage - 136" with a 4K (3840x216) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The new displays are powered by LG's 6-Gen α9 AI Processor and its WebOS platform, and include built-in 100 Watt speakers and enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) for lossless playback of high-quality audio. Finally, LGE says that the new microLED displays received a Color Consistency Wide Viewing certification from TÜV Rheinland.

LG Electronics to soon show its first microLED RGB LCD TV

LG Electronics will unveil its first LCD TV powered by microLED backlighting. The company announced that the TV will be shown at CES 2026 (as it has won a CES Innovation Award).

It is not clear yet whether LG's TV will be powered by RGB microLEDs, or LEDs, but the company did say it was "micro RGB" technology.

LG Electronics launches LTPS microLED tiled displays, branded as MAGNIT Active Micro LED

LG Electronics announced its latest microLED ultra-large display, the MAGNIT Active Micro LED. This is the company's first microLED display that is based on an LTPS backplane (rather than a PCB one). The company says that these new displays offer increased image clarity, contrast and depth.

LG's new MAGNIT displays are now available in Korea. While these are tiled displays, it seems that LGE is offering a single size - 136" with a 4K (3840x216) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. LG Electronics to collaborate with LG Display and bring LTPS tiled microLED signage displays to market

LG Electronics has been producing tiled microLED displays (branded as MAGNIT displays) for many years, utilizing its own technology based on PCB backplanes.

LG Display has been developing its own tiled microLED technologies, and it is now reported that the two companies are collaborating to bring LTPS-based microLED tiles to LG Electronics' signage. This is not a surprise, as in general we see a shift from PCB backplanes to LTPS backplanes for large-area signage microLED displays, as these offer higher performance, and a simplified circuit design.

LG Display shows new 22-inch zero-bezel microLED modules

LG Display is demonstrating new microLED modules at SID Displayweek 2025. These are tiled zero-bezel displays, that the company is showing in a nice demo:

Each module is 22" in size, offering a resolution of 480x540 (pixel pitch - 0.783 mm), a refresh rate of up to 144Hz (VRR), and a peak brightness of 1,700 nits (3% APL).

LG installs seven MAGNIT microLED displays at the Dallas Cowboy stadium

LG Business Solutions, the “Official Display Partner of the Dallas Cowboys”, announced that it has completed the installation of seven MAGNIT microLED displays at the Dallas Cowboy's AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. 

The microLED displays have been installed in the newly renovated Bank of America Founders Club. There's a single 4.88 x 2.44 meters display, two 1.22 x 1.22 meters displays (these are LG's 1.2 mm LSAB012 displays), and two 1.83 x 1.83 meters displays (these are LG's 0.9 mm LSAB009 displays). The premium suites at the stadium also installed LG's OLED TVs
