The MicroLED Industry Association to host an automotive display webinar

On September 4th the MicroLED Industry Association will host a private webinar on automotive displays and technologies. The automotive market represents a very good segment for microLED developers, as it offers high performance requirements, relative microLED maturity and the ability to adopt premium solutions.

The MicroLED Association reports over 500 downloads from the MicroLED Library

In May 2023 the MicroLED Industry Association launched the MicroLED Library, an extensive compilation of MicroLED datasheets, presentations, whitepapers and more. Just over a month after the launch, the association reports over 500 downloads from the library.

The MicroLED Library curates content from various companies (including GE, Terecircuits, Radiant Vision Systems, CEA-Leti, eLux and more), some of which is available in several languages, and includes the MicroLED Association's own whitepapers. The MicroLED Library is public and free for everyone (some content is open to association members only) to use and it is continuously being updated with new content in order to remain a valuable resource for MicroLED information. Yenrich, spun-off from Epistar and now part of the Ennostar group, develops mini-LED and micro-LED packaging. The company is focused on direct-view displays, both miniLED based and microLED based.

The MicroLED Association reports over 2000 downloads for its white papers

The MicroLED Association published its first white paper (LED Cost Analysis for MicroLED Smartwatch Displays) in January 2023, and has published two more white papers since.

The association is happy to announce that there have been over 2,200 downloads for its three whitepapers. MicroLEDs are considered to be the next generation display technology, and display professionals are looking for information and analysis regarding the latest microLED developments and technologies.

SID DisplayWeek 2023 - first microLED impressions

Display Week 2023, the industry's premier event, is now over, and it was a great week. We had dozens of meetings and saw many next-generation display technologies. As we go over all materials, we will upload new stories to detail the displays on show.

During the conference, we also hosted the first annual MicroLED Industry Association meeting, and were happy to see almost 40 people attending the meeting, and staying for several hours - discussing their latest technologies and exchanging information and news.

Aledia, DELO, GE and Smartkem join the MicroLED Industry Association

The MicroLED Industry Association (MIA) welcomes new members GE, Smartkem, DELO and Aledia, joining over 30 existing members (including large corporations, startup companies, research institutes and more). The MIA aims to accelerate the adoption of microLED display technologies, bringing together companies, researchers and organizations active in the MicroLED industry and providing an ideal forum for solving common technology issues, fostering cooperation and sharing relevant information, resources and tools.

The recently joined members commented:

The MicroLED Industry Association launches The MicroLED Library

The MicroLED Industry Association (MIA), a cross-industry association created to accelerate the adoption of microLED display technologies and facilitate collaborations between companies in the MicroLED industry, is proud to announce The MicroLED Library.

This new platform is an extensive compilation of MicroLED datasheets, presentations, whitepapers and more. To date, it already curates content from various companies (including GE, Terecircuits, Radiant Vision Systems, CEA-Leti, eLux and more), some of which is available in several languages, and includes the MIA's own whitepapers.

The MicroLED Industry Association's first annual meeting to take place during Displayweek 2023

The MicroLED Industry Association will host its first annual meeting during Displayweek 2023. The annual meeting will take place on the 22nd of May, at 4:00PM, at the Los Angeles convention center.

During the meeting, we will update on past activities and plans for the new year, and give association members an excellent chance to network and connect with fellow microLED industry professionals.

MicroLED Tiled Displays - current status and future roadmaps

The MicroLED Industry Association published today a new white paper, that is focused on Tiled MicroLED TVs. One of the advantages of microLED technology is the ability to create completely seamless tiled displays, offering unique cost and design advantages. Tiled microLED displays are already on the market, but available displays are extremely expensive, targeting the commercial and ultra-premium residential markets.

This whitepaper discusses tiled microLED displays, the current market and industry status, the technologies required to produce such displays, the roadmap ahead – and also a microLED tiled TV chip cost analysis and a discussion on how could such displays compete with premium OLED TV displays.

The white paper is published on the MicroLED Association's website, and is open to the public.
