X-Celeprint
Ireland-based X-Celeprint, a wholly-owned subsidiary of XTRION N.V. is developing a patented elastomer stamp Micro-Transfer-Printing technology developed by Professor John Rogers and colleagues at the University of Illinois.
X-Celeprint technology is based on elastomer stamp transfer printing. The company currently offers a line of R&D micro-transfer-printing tools and expects to release mass-production tools in the near future.
In 2019 X-Celeprint spun-off its display related business to xDisplay.

Daktronics shows a 6.2" 640x320 microIC-driven 0.18 mm pitch microLED display module
US-based signage developer Daktronics demonstrated its latest microLED module display technology at ISE 2026. The demonstration is of a small microLED tile (6.2-inch, 640x320), based on a micro-IC driving technology, with a 0.18 mm pixel pitch.
Daktronics says that its microLED displays can achieve a brightness of 4500 nits. This panel is based on IP and technology by X Display Company (XDC), which Daktronics acquired in December 2025.
Daktronics acquires XDC's IP and equipment, aiming to integrate its microLED technologies in its product
US-based signage developer Daktronics announced that it has acquired IP, equipment and technical expertise from X Display Company (XDC). It is not clear whether XDC remains an active company, or whether it has shut down after the acquisition. The company did not disclose the financial implications of this acquisition.
Daktronics says that the acquisition will enable it to integrate these technologies into its own products. The IP assets include XDC's mass transfer technologies and microLED fabrication, which Daktronics aims to use in large-format video walls and medium-sized commercial displays.
Micro-CPV: a promising new solar technology that may benefit from microLED production processes
Researchers from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and MIT, published a review article on Micro-Scale Concentrating Photovoltaics, or micro-CPV, a new technology that uses miniaturized solar panels and optics that concentrate the sun's energy into these micro panels. The benefits of micro-CPV compared to normal solar panels include potentially lower cost (much less solar absorption area), better thermal management, shorter optical path and lower resistive losses.
There are many challenges yet before micro-CPVs can be produced in large volume and at competitive prices. Interestingly, microLED production processes can be applied to the production of micro-CPVs, as these solutions can be seen like inverted technologies - tiny devices that either absorb or emit light.

XDC installs the world's first 300mm elastomer stamp based microLED transfer tool
MicroLED display technology developer X Display Company (XDC) announced that it installed the world's first 300 mm elastomer stamp based mass MicroLED transfer equipment late in 2020. This tool was installed in the US and the company hopes to start shipping several similar tools for its customers later in 2021.

XDC spun out of X-celeprint in 2019 and retained the equipment organization from that transaction. XDC has over 15 years of experience with mass transfer micro printing technologies, and is offering a range of tools for microLED transfer, suitable for R&D work and industrial-scale production.
X-Celeprint uses BluGlass' RPCVD p-GaN production process to develop a 2,000 nits Micro-LED display
In March 2018, Australia-based RPCVD developer BluGlass announced that it has entered into a collaboration agreement with a microLED company to investigate the use of its Remote Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition (RPCVD) production technology to produce RGB MicroLED devices.

BluGlass now announced that its partner is X-Celeprint, that used the process to demonstrate a 2,000 cd/m2 micro-LED display that offers good luminance with color uniformity, quantum efficiency and forward voltage that equals current high-performance commercial applications. BluGlass reveals that X-Celeprint has been a long-standing customer of BluGlass’ foundry services and were the first adopter of its RPCVD system for Micro-LED production.
X-Celeprint demonstrates a 5.1" 70 PPI Micro-LED display
Ireland-based micro-transfer printing developer X-Celeprint demonstrated a 5.1" Micro-LED display in a private demo room at SID Displayweek.
X-Celeprint's display has a low resolution - the pixel density is 70 PPI, which means the resolution is around 300x200. The display uses micro ICs to control and compensate each pixel (this is not a TFT display). X-Celeprint says it intends to spin off a new display-focused company within the next 12 months.
