UK-based IQE is a pure play compound semiconductor provider with a global footprint, that supplies advanced materials and wafer products to the semiconductor industry. IQE business segments include wireless, photonics and CMOS.

Over the years IQE collaborated with several microLED makers regarding microLED wafers. In May 2023 the company launched a new portfolio of 200mm (8”) Red, Green and Blue epitaxial wafer products for microLED display qualification.

In 2025, IQE reported an increase in microLED wafer orders.
