Toray Research Center (TRC) is hosting an open online webinar, with lectures focused on microLED displays and OLED materials analysis and evaluation. TRC, which supplies technical analysis and support for R&D and manufacturing, invites you to attend the online lectures at no cost to gain a deeper understanding of microLED technologies and the analysis of display devices. You can register to view the lectures here - note that the recordings will be available until June 1st.
The first lecture discusses new analytical technologies for morphology, structure and property evaluation. During the lecture, TRC researchers will discuss the center's In-Situ Heating TEM system, and how it enabled the reproduction and visualization of the bonding strength enhancement process induced by thermal treatment. Other topics in this lecture will include temperature- and humidity-controlled nanoindentation measurements, AFM-IR for nanoscale functional-group and structural analysis, and the analysis of metal-organic complexes in liquid.
The second lecture, titled "Evaluation of 3-dimensional structure and elemental composition distribution using 3D-SEM", focuses on 3D observation techniques using FIB-SEM, and describe the 3D structure and elemental composition of both TFT devices and CMOS image sensor devices. Finally, the lecture will look into the wide-area cross-sectional observation using plasma FIB-SEM.
The third lecture is focused on degradation analysis of OLED devices, by using µ-PL with gradient shaping preparation and GCIB-XPS/REELS. TRC will show how it has used microscopic photoluminescence spectroscopy on precisely prepared inclined surfaces to evaluate depth-dependent luminescence characteristics, and how the results help device makers design more efficient OLEDs.
Toray Research Center also offers a fourth lecture, that focuses on the capabilities and services it offers to microLED and OLED developers. TRC offers a wide range of over 100 different analytical methods, and has been offering display analysis services for over 30 years. It now offers new technologies to analyze the latest microLED and OLED platforms, tandem devices, under-the-display cameras, and more.
