TCL announced that following the high interest in optical I/O solutions, it is entering the microLED optical I/O market - and has shared its roadmap and strategy. The company believes it can provide a complete solution, building up from optical LED chips to optical components - and finally to complete optical modules. The company wants to proceed at a slow pace, and will not look to rapidly expand before verifications and proven adoption.
TCL has already established basic microLED chip production capabilities, through its acquisition of Fuzhou Huazhao, Two months ago the company established a new company called Huazha Starlight, that will develop LED chips, packaging and more. The company will soon begin operations.
