Innolux shows new an automotive microLED display based instrument cluster

CarUX, a subsidiary of Innolux, is demonstrating new microLED automotive display prototypes at CES 2024. The main demonstration is the Pixiu 3 premium, shown below.

This complete cockpit system utilizes Innolux's unique Micro LED COB (Chip on Board) to offer high brightness, high contrast ratio, rapid response, and high color saturation - in addition to very high efficiency. Innolux says that it aims to meet the requirements of power consumption features and advanced automotive markets.

Innolux unveils a 12.3" tiled microLED display module prototype

Taiwan-based display maker Innolux demonstrated a 12.3" microLED tiled seamless display module prototype, based on an LTPS backplane. The display achieves a brightness of 700 nits and a resolution of 480x180 (40 PPI)

The display is driven by an active matrix backplane, and uses inkjet-printed quantum dots based color conversion system (which we do not have any more info for, as of now). The LEDs themselves are 20x40 um in size.

Innolux unveils an automotive 10.1" mini-LED display prototype

Taiwan's Innolux demonstrated a new prototype mini-LED display. The 10.1" panel features a resolution of 1540x720 (168 PPI) and it seems to be a monochrome white display. Innolux hopes to commercialize such displays by 2020.

Innolux says that this type is very suitable for automotive applications - as it has an almost infinite contrast (similar to OLED displays) and it can also work in the demanding temperatures required by the automotive industry. Innolux hopes that such mini-LED displays can find a market and be a bridge before the company can develop micro-LED displays with higher densities and increased brightness.
