UK-based SDI Group announced that it has acquired PRP Optoelectronics for 9.3 million GBP (around $12.6 million USD). PRP is focused on the design and production of custom high-performance microLED microdisplays and LED light engines, mostly for the aerospace industry, as it supplies to programs such as the Eurofighter Typhoon, F-16, and F-22 Raptor.
PRP Optoelectronics recorded revenues of $8.1 million in 2025, and a profit of $2 million. PRP will be integrated into SDI's Industrial & Scientific Sensors division.
PRP is one of the world's first microRLED microdisplay producer (maybe the first), producing both standard and custom displays, at low volume.
