Samsung Display is showing its latest stretchable microLED display prototype at SID Displayweek 2026.
The stretchable display (branded as "Stretchable Display 2.0" achieves high pixel density - 200 PPI, which is 67% higher than Samsung last-year 120 PPI demonstration. Samsung says that at 200 PPI, this is the highest density stretchable microLED display demonstrated to date.
To achieve this higher resolution, Samsung Display increased the pixel density within the bridge structure by two times. Samsung explains that the bridge structure connects fixed regions where pixels or LEDs are located, enabling the panel to maintain electrical performance even when stretched. Samsung further says that when combined with Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) environments, this technology is expected to dynamically adjust the display according to driving conditions and maximize visibility.”
