PlayNitride introduces new microLED display prototypes at SID Displayweek 2021

MicroLED developer PlayNitride introduced interesting new display prototypes at SID Displayweek 2021.

The first display is a 89-inch 5K (59 PPI) curved display, produced from tiled microLED panels. The display has a 32:9 aspect ratio with the microLEDs driven by PCB. The 89-inch display is build from 168 tiles, and it achieves a brightness of over 2,000 nits.

The second display is a microdisplay, the first time that we see such a display from PlayNitride. It is a 0.39-inch 480x270 (1411 PPI) full-color microdisplay, produced on a silicon backplane. This seems to be an early prototype, with a relatively limited density compared to other microdisplay displays and prototypes.

PlayNitride also demonstrated the 1.39" 472x427 circular wearable display it developed with AU Optronics, its 7.54" 114PPI transparent microLED and finally a 7.54" HDR display prototype.
