Mojo Vision secures a $17.5 million strategic investment to advance its microLED-based optical I/O technology

MicroLED microdisplay and optical I/O technology developer Mojo Vision, a MicroLED Industry Association member, announced that it has received a $17.5 million strategic investment from Future Ventures.

This follows the company's $75 million financing round last August and will help accelerate the development and commercialization of its micro-LED optical communication platform for next-generation AI infrastructure.

Earlier this month, Mojo Vision signed a long-term collaboration agreement with Marvell Technology, to develop a new class of microLED based optical interconnect solutions to power high-performance AI data center infrastructure.

Mojo Vision actually signed this agreement a year ago, but only now reported it. Marvell, which was the lead investor in Mojo Vision’s $75 million Series B Prime financing round, brings to this collaboration its connectivity technology portfolio.

Mojo Vision developed the world's highest density displays and smallest microLED devices - up to 28,000 PPI using sub-micron LEDs. In 2024, Mojo Vision announced that it has developed a full-color microdisplay prototype. In September 2024, Mojo Vision teamed up with CY Vision to develop next-gen automotive HUDs based on microLED light engines.

Mojo Vision started as a smart contact lens developer, that raised over $200 million to develop its technologies, including the microLED technologies its solution required. In 2023, the company laid of most of its employees, decelerated the contact lens development and focused almost entirely on its microLED technologies. The company successfully pivoted to microdisplay technologies and raised over $100 million since.
