The government of South Korea, via its Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, announced a plan to invest 484 billion Won (around $350 million USD) in microLED display technology.
The investment plan, that will run through 2032, aims to assist Korea's local display industry in its transition from current OLED technologies to microLED and quantum dots technologies. The government hopes that this will assit in creating a complete supply chain for microLED technologies in Korea - including locally made epiwafers, chips and materials.
