MicroLED Connect 2026 is set to be the industry's premier event for microLED and next-generation display technologies, taking place on 16-17 September 2026 at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, with a world-class agenda, exhibition and networking opportunities. The event spans three co-located tracks - MicroLED, AR/VR and Optical I/O - covering everything from microLED manufacturing and displays to AR/VR optics and optical interconnects for AI infrastructure.
Here are some of the speakers and themes from the MicroLED track. You can explore the full agenda and event details here.
Hybrid bonding, 3D integration and chip-scale transfer
Samsung Display will open the keynote sessions with an outlook on microLED for display, addressing the technology's key challenges and its potential across the value chain. The sessions that follow dig into how the industry is actually getting microLEDs onto backplanes and into working devices.
Hongshi Intelligence will look at what's next for microLED micro-displays, covering hybrid bonding, metasurfaces and system-level iteration. Adeia will present its work on 3D system integration for microLEDs, focusing on hybrid bonding and the co-optimization of GaN and silicon. GlobalFoundries will detail how CMOS backplanes can be enabled for microdisplays.
South Korea's Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will trace the path from materials to OSAT with its SITRAB technology for scalable micro-LED transfer and bonding. Holst Centre will present laser-induced forward transfer as a high-precision route to advanced chip integration, while Technische Universität Ilmenau will discuss fluidic self-assembly of microLEDs as a route to scaling into the deep microscale.
Inspection, lasers and manufacturing scale-up
Getting microLEDs to scale isn't only about placing them correctly - it's also about finding the defects, speeding up the process and proving the approach works outside the lab.
WEVE Co., Ltd will introduce multimodal microLED inspection spanning wafer screening through to panel integration. Coherent will show how lasers can address current bottlenecks in the mass production of microLED displays, and Hummink will present HPCaP, a new technology for microLED manufacturing.
Pixel-Flo will detail a scalability breakthrough for microLED mass transfer using a slot-die coating approach, while Aumovio will look at advances in microLED for automotive applications.
Microdisplays and optical architectures
A further group of speakers will turn to the display side of the equation - from smartphone-ready microLEDs to the micro-optics that shape how light reaches the eye.
VueReal will discuss the key technical and manufacturing enablers needed to make microLED displays viable for smartphones. Konica Minolta will present virtual demura for AR/VR displays, based on a near-eye case study, and Avegant Corp. will look at power efficiency considerations for near-eye display systems.
Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) will present one-micron pixel LCoS displays based on metasurface-integrated liquid crystal cells. Nanoscribe will discuss additive 3D microfabrication for complex micro-optics and compound lenses in AR systems, and EssilorLuxottica will introduce POPULAR, a universal prescription lens platform for augmented reality eyewear.
The MicroLED Connect track will close with a panel discussion, "Betting on AR: uLED Momentum, Tier-1 Reality, and the Case for Consolidation," bringing together industry perspectives on where the technology stands and where consolidation may be heading next.
MicroLED Connect 2026: time to reserve your seat!
These are just some of the manufacturing, integration and microdisplay talks on this year's agenda. MicroLED Connect 2026 also includes the co-located AR/VR and Optical I/O tracks, giving attendees full access to all three conference tracks and the shared exhibition floor.
