The Fraunhofer IPMS, together with Qubedot, developed and demonstrated a WUXGA blue microLED microdisplay

The Fraunhofer IPMS, in collaboration with QubeDot, developed a blue microLED microdisplay. The display was demonstrated at MicroLED-ARVR-Connect 2026 in Eindhoven.

The blue monochrome display offers a WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution in a 1-inch panel, 120Hz refresh rate - and can achieve up to 10 million nits at 2 uW per pixel.

For this display, the Fraunhofer IPMS adapted and supplied the backplane, while Qubedot integrated the microLEDs onto the backplane. The Fraunhofer's work was performed within the internal research project "MicroLED Assembly".
