Daktronics shows a 6.2" 640x320 microIC-driven 0.18 mm pitch microLED display module

US-based signage developer Daktronics demonstrated its latest microLED module display technology at ISE 2026. The demonstration is of a small microLED tile (6.2-inch, 640x320), based on a micro-IC driving technology, with a 0.18 mm pixel pitch.

Daktronics says that its microLED displays can achieve a brightness of 4500 nits. This panel is based on IP and technology by X Display Company (XDC), which Daktronics acquired in December 2025.

XDC has been one of the early microLED industry pioneers (having been spun-off from X-Celeprint years ago). Daktronics has invested in the company since 2020. Over the years the company developed many microLED technologies, and has been an advocate of micro-IC backplanes, among other architectures. In 2024, XDC announced that it has developed a new micro-IC driven microLED display in collaboration with Lumileds. Also in 2024 we have posted an interview with XDC's Executive VP of Operations & Equipment, to learn more about the company's technology and business.
