Counterpoint (DSCC) estimates that microLED display revenues grew 150% in 2025. The company did not release the exact revenue numbers, but these are still quite low, probably below $100 million.
Most of the growth last year were from the AR display segment, and in fact Counterpoint says that AR microdisplays represent 58% of all microLED revenues.
In TVs and wearables, even following AUO's successful launch last year, microLEDs remain a niche technology that cannot compete with OLEDs and LCDs. Next year, microLED TV revenues will capture 55% of the microLED market, and Counterpoint could be counting microLED-backlit LCDs in that category.
For the first time, in 2026 microLED automotive displays will ship (the first car to utilize microLEDs will be Sony Honda's AFEELA 1), but sales will be very low (2% of the total microLED display market).
