Aixtron reported its financial results for Q2 2026, with revenues of 214.5 million Euro, up 81% from last year, saying that it sees very strong demand for optoelectronic systems, mainly for last systems.
Demand for the company's microLED end markets, though, remained soft.
Earlier this year, Aixtron said that 2025 saw a slowdown, but looking ahead, Aixtron expects its microLED segment to remain 'stable' - which likely means it sees 2026 generating similar business to that in 2025.
In October 2025, Aixtron said it sees initial indications of re-investment in AR microLED application - but it seems it is no longer seeing the ramp-up it expected last year.
In 2024, Aixtron received orders from several microLED customers building R&D and pilot production lines. Back then Aixtron expected to see increased orders in 2026 and 2027 as several of its customers are looking into starting to ramp up production in 2027 or 2028. It seems, now, that these planned are delayed, at best.
